Event Overview
The Tri for Real Triathlon #3 takes place at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California. This event is part of a three-race series held throughout the summer months. The competition features several multi-sport formats, including an Olympic-distance triathlon, a Super Sprint option, and an Aquabike race. The Olympic-distance and Aquabike events are USAT sanctioned.
Race Formats and Distances
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- Tri for Real Triathlon: A 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike, and 10 km run.
- Aquabike: A 1.5 km swim and 40 km bike.
- Super Sprint Triathlon: A 200 yard swim, 4 mile bike, and 1 mile run.
- Relay Team: Available for the Olympic-distance course.
Series Championship
The event includes a Series Championship for those participating in the Olympic-distance races. Athletes who complete all three events in the series are eligible for championship prizes. These awards are organized by five-year age groups for both men and women.
Participant Information
Each athlete receives a swim cap, post-race refreshments, and a commemorative finisher piece. Race packets are available for pickup at the race site on the morning of the event. There is a vehicle entrance fee for Rancho Seco Park. Access to the park is briefly restricted during the morning due to bike course closures for the Super Sprint event.
