Tri for Real Triathlon, Aquabike and Super Sprint Triathlon #3
Tri for Real Triathlon Series takes place at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California across three summer dates: June 5, July 10, and August 7, 2027. The Series includes an Olympic-distance Championship for athletes who compete in all three events, with age-group prizes awarded in five-year increments for men and women.
Event formats and distances:
- Super Sprint Tri: 200 yd swim, 4 mi bike, 1 mile run
- Tri for Real (Olympic distance): 1.5K swim, 40K bike, 10K run
- Aquabike: 1.5K swim, 40K bike
The Olympic-distance triathlon and the Aquabike are sanctioned by USA Triathlon; the Super Sprint is not. Athlete packet pickup is available race morning and included race items are a swim cap, post-race refreshments, and a commemorative finisher piece.
Transition area access is restricted to athletes; bike rack reservations are available for triathlon clubs and bodymarking is required before entry. Glass and bottles are prohibited in transition. Aid stations are located at the transition area, the start of the run, and along the run course, offering cold water, energy gels, and FLUID electrolyte beverage.
Equipment and safety notes include an expected lake temperature of 72-76 degrees, optional wetsuits, prohibition of swim fins and snorkels, mandatory helmets while on the bike, and a ban on listening devices during the race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
