Tri for Fun Triathlon

TRI for FUN Triathlon and DU for FUN Duathlon at Rancho Seco Park

The TRI for FUN Triathlon and DU for FUN Duathlon take place at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California as part of a three-race summer series on June 6, July 11, and August 8, 2027. The series began in 1983 and has been organized by TBF Racing since 2001 in partnership with SMUD staff. The triathlon and duathlon use short sprint-style distances and include individual and relay divisions, age-group categories, and special divisions such as Athena and Clydesdale.

Race distances:

• TRI for FUN: 1/2 mile swim, 16 mile bike, 3 mile run
• DU for FUN: 1 mile run, 16 mile bike, 3 mile run

All racers receive race day TBF swag, a TRI for FUN finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. Commemorative race t-shirts are available for $20 when ordered before June 1. Awards are given by 10-year age groups in the triathlon, and the duathlon presents awards to the top overall finishers by gender; relay teams also receive awards in male, female, and coed divisions. Packet pickup is available at the race site on race morning. TBF Racing maintains a no refund policy; refunds before race week are issued as race credit minus a $25 processing fee, and transfers between events are allowed within one year for a $25 fee.
