TRI for FUN Triathlon and DU for FUN Duathlon
The TRI for FUN Triathlon and DU for FUN Duathlon take place at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California as part of a summer series in 2027. The series includes race dates on June 6, July 11, and August 8 and is in its 44th year. The event series began in 1983 and has been organized by TBF Racing since 2001.
The two main race formats are:
- TRI for FUN: 1/2 mile swim, 16 mile bike, 3 mile run
- DU for FUN: 1 mile run, 16 mile bike, 3 mile run
All racers receive race day TBF swag, a TRI for FUN finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. Commemorative race t-shirts are available for $20 when ordered before June 1. Awards are presented by division, with triathlon awards for the top three in each 10-year age group and duathlon awards for the top five overall male and female finishers. Relay team awards are given to the top three teams in the Coed, Female, and Male divisions. Other divisions include Athena, Clydesdale, and Challenged.
Packet pickup is available on race morning at the site. Park entry closes briefly during the TRI for KIDS event, so vehicles may need to park and walk about one mile or wait until the park road reopens. Rancho Seco Park offers camping and a lake with summer water temperatures in the 70s. Park parking is $15 per car; exact change is preferred.
TBF Racing maintains a no refund policy. Refunds before race week are issued as race credit minus a $25 processing fee. Transfers between TBF events are allowed within one year for a $25 fee. All events are held rain or shine. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
