TRI for FUN Triathlon and DU for FUN Duathlon
The TRI for FUN Triathlon and DU for FUN Duathlon are held at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, California as part of a summer series in 2027 with race dates on June 6, July 11, and August 8. The series has been organized by TBF Racing since 2001 and traces back to a sprint triathlon that began in 1983.
Distances for the two events are:
- TRI for FUN: 1/2 mile swim, 16 mile bike, 3 mile run
- DU for FUN: 1 mile run, 16 mile bike, 3 mile run
All racers receive race day TBF items, a TRI for FUN finisher medal, and post race refreshments. Commemorative race t-shirts are available for $20 when ordered before June 1. Awards are given by division with triathlon awards for the top three finishers in each 10 year age group. The duathlon awards recognize the top five overall male and female finishers. Relays and special divisions include Athena, Clydesdale, Male, Female, Coed Relay, and Challenged categories.
Packet pickup takes place race morning from 6:30 to 8:30 am at the race site. Park entry is restricted between 7:30 and 8:00 am because of a TRI for Kids event; vehicles may park and walk in about one mile or wait until the road reopens.
Rancho Seco Park at 14440 Twin Cities Blvd offers camping and a lake with summertime water temperatures in the 70s. Parking is $15 per car; exact change is preferred.
TBF Racing has a no refund policy. Refunds requested prior to race week are issued as race credit minus a $25 processing fee. Transfers between TBF events are allowed within a one year window for a $25 fee and are not permitted during race week. Events are held rain or shine.
