Multi-Distance Community Triathlon in Pima
The Tri Community Tri is a multi-distance sports event held in Pima, a rural town in Southeastern Arizona. The event is organized by a non-profit organization and is managed by volunteers. Proceeds from the registration fees are reinvested into future races or donated to the local community.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- Sprint Triathlon: 425-yard pool swim, 15-mile bike ride, and 5 km run.
- Relay Sprint Triathlon: Competed by teams over the sprint distance.
- Super Sprint Triathlon: 125-yard swim, 7-mile bike ride, and 1.5-mile run.
- Kids Triathlon: 75-yard swim, 1.2-mile bike ride, and 0.5-mile run.
The swimming portion takes place as a lap swim in the public pool located near the center of town. The cycling course leads out of the town center into areas with rolling hills and local wildlife. The running segment meanders through residential neighborhoods on flat terrain.
Award medals are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers in the Sprint and Super Sprint categories. Additionally, medals are awarded to the top three finishers in five-year age brackets for both male and female divisions. The Kids Triathlon also features overall and age-group awards for participants under 15 years old. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
