Tri-Cities Marathon - Richland, WA

The 43rd annual Tri-Cities Marathon takes place Sunday, October 25, 2026, with the Riverfront Hotel in Richland serving as the event hub. The event offers full and half marathon distances plus a team relay option.

  • 26.2 Miles Marathon and Marathon Relay (relay up to four runners)
  • 13.1 Miles Half Marathon

Registration is offered in tiered pricing periods: Super Early Bird (November 1 - December 31), Early Bird (January 1 - April 30), Standard (May 1 - October 9), and Late (October 10 and after). Fees vary by period and event.

Course notes: the Half Marathon is a 6.55-mile out-and-back into Pasco with a turnaround near the Road 54 boat launch and is USATF certified through 2027. The Marathon returns to the route used 2005–2023 with minor changes and is expected to be certified by summer 2026. Relay exchange locations include the Road 54 boat launch in Pasco (exchanges 1 and 3) and near the Columbia Park Bandshell in Kennewick; parking is described as generous at exchange areas and teams are responsible for their own transport.

Courses are mostly flat apart from bridge ramps; marathon elevation gain is about 400 ft and the last bridge begins roughly 2 miles from the finish. All turns are marked and mile and 5 km markers are provided. Aid stations appear approximately every 2 miles, stocked with water, electrolytes, solid nutrition and some gels, and are equipped with first aid kits. Restrooms are a mix of permanent and portable units at or near most aid stations.

Awards include a custom finisher's medal for all finishers, podium medals for top three men and women in full and half distances, custom pint glasses for age group winners (19U; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+), relay plaques, and a Director's Award from a sponsor recognizing sportsmanship and perseverance. Organizers indicate a need for about 70 to 90 volunteers. Training groups and local programs are available and a TCM-specific training group is planned for mid 2026. Typical late October weather is 40-55F with variable conditions and easterly winds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
