Event overview

The Tri-Cities Marathon will be held on October 26, 2025, in Richland, WA. This is the 42nd edition of the event. The race weekend centers on the Riverfront Hotel at 50 Comstock St, Richland.

Distances and event options:

  • Marathon - 26.2 miles
  • Half Marathon - 6.55 miles out-and-back course description
  • Marathon Relay - up to four runners sharing the 26.2 miles

Packet pickup is planned over two days, likely Friday and Saturday, with at least one pickup at Fleet Feet that will include a shakeout run and a brief info session. The event expects about 70-90 volunteers.

Course and logistics

The Half Marathon is a 6.55 miles out-and-back into Pasco, turning around on the trail just before the Road 54 boat launch. It is USATF certified through 2027. The Marathon route follows the Pasco river trail past the Cable Bridge, crosses into Kennewick, uses trail and bike lanes along Columbia Park Trail, turns toward Chamna Park with a turnaround near the I-182 bridge, and returns to the Riverfront Hotel. USATF certification for the Marathon course is in progress.

Relay exchange locations:

  • Road 54 parking area in Pasco (Exchange 1)
  • Turn into Columbia Park in Kennewick, just before the skate park (Exchange 2)
  • East end of Carrier Road in Richland (Exchange 3)

Parking is described as generous at all exchange points; teams must arrange transport between exchanges. The course is mostly flat apart from bridges, with the final 8 miles of the Marathon slightly rolling and about 400 ft of elevation gain. Aid stations are planned approximately every 2 miles, with roughly 12 stations for the Marathon, 6 for the Half, and 2-3 per relay leg, stocked with water, electrolytes, energy gels, and snacks. Turns and mile markers will be clearly marked and supported by course marshals as volunteer staffing allows. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
