Tremains Duathlon Series 2026
The Tremains Duathlon Series is organised by Rotorua Triathlon and Multisport and runs on three Sundays in 2026: 19 April, 17 May and 14 June. Each event combines an off-road run, a mountain bike section and a final run, with race categories for children and an open Kererū category for participants aged 9 years and older. Entry is available for individual events or as a three-event series.
Distances for the main categories include:
- Piwakawaka (4-6 yr): Run 250m | Bike 1.5km | Run 250m
- Ruru (7-9 yr): Run 500m | Bike 5km | Run 500m
- Kererū (Open, 9 yrs+): Run 1.5km | Bike two laps of Te Pou Koropū | Run 1.5km
Fees are listed per category with reduced club member rates; a $5 late fee applies to on-the-day entries. Club members receive a $5 discount for each event. Online registration closes the Thursday before each race; a series entry option gives three entries for the price of two if completed before the first event.
Course maps and a safety management plan with RAMS are available for participants. Prizegiving awards first to third places and merit prizes in Kererū are split into 9–13 and 14+ categories; every finisher receives a chocolate. On-site amenities include a sausage sizzle provided by Tremains, a coffee shop at Mountain Bike Rotorua, a bike wash and toilet facilities. Volunteers support event operations and officials oversee health and safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
