Trek for TRC
Trek for TRC is a summer fundraiser organized by Tennessee Running Club to raise funds that help the club attend more races and remain affordable for students. Tennessee Running Club is a student-run nonprofit associated with the University of Tennessee Knoxville and offers fun runs, workouts, personalized coaching, and competitive racing for students and faculty.
Event distances include:
- 5K race
- 1 mile Family Fun Mile run or walk
The 5K course follows local roads through the Hardin Valley schools campus. The route begins at the high school, circles past Hardin Valley Elementary School and Hardin Valley Middle School, and finishes on the Hardin Valley Academy track. The 5K course includes some rolling hills.
All 5K registrants receive a custom event T-shirt; a shirt order cutoff is scheduled for May. Age group awards for the 5K are given in 10 year increments. Children in the 1 mile receive a participation token.
Facilities and logistics note that restrooms are available at the Hardin Valley Academy football stadium and not on course. An aid station with water cups is located at the halfway point of the 5K. Parking is at Hardin Valley Academy with overflow at Hardin Valley Elementary. Registration opens April 15 and closes June 6. Fees are $35 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 mile.
