TreeTops Trail Race : DuPont State Forest
The TreeTops Trail Race is an 8.5 mile trail event held in DuPont State Forest on October 17, 2026. The route follows singletrack through dense forest with rolling and sharp climbs and fast descents, and accumulates nearly 1,000 feet of elevation gain. The course is well marked and a GPS route is provided.
All finishers receive a custom wooden finisher medal on a genuine leather cord. The event uses professional chip timing with timing chips on bibs and timing mats on the course. There are two water stations along the route. Awards are given to overall and age group winners. The in-person field is limited to 300 participants.
A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person; virtual participants receive event swag by mail. Registrations are non-refundable, but options such as transferring to the virtual event, deferral, or changing race distance are offered under the event's policies and deadlines.
The course is not suitable for strollers and dogs are not permitted. The event is presented as rain or shine unless conditions are dangerous, and the organizer reserves the right to modify, postpone, cancel, or convert the event to a virtual format.
Post-race activities include the DuPont Forest Festival with guided hikes, educational workshops, live music, and food vendors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
