Event Overview
The Treasure Coast Endurance Challenge is a multisport event taking place in Hobe Sound, Florida. The venue is Jonathan Dickinson State Park. The event features a combination of adventure races and trail runs.
Event Types
Participants can choose from four main events:
- 3 Hour Adventure Race: A three-hour multisport race involving trekking/trail running, paddling, and mountain biking. Teams of 1-4 people navigate to checkpoints across an estimated distance of 10-18 miles within the state park. The checkpoints are noted as being more easily located than in the longer race.
- 6 Hour Adventure Race: A six-hour version of the adventure race, covering an estimated 20-40 miles. It also involves navigation to checkpoints while trekking, paddling, and mountain biking.
- 5K Trail Run: A running event on park trails.
- 25K Trail Run: A longer distance trail running event.
For the adventure races, competitors use pre-plotted CalTopo maps for navigation. Checkpoints are located at natural landmarks like trail intersections, canals, bays, and wetlands. The course terrain may include single-track mountain bike trails, dirt or gravel roads, some paved roads, and flat-water for kayaking or canoeing.
Registration and Logistics
All adventure race participants are required to sign a USARA waiver. The listed start location for the adventure races is 16450 SE Federal Hwy, Hobe Sound, FL. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
