Trawsfynydd Multi Terrain 8 Miler
The Trawsfynydd Multi Terrain 8 Miler is a running event set within the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park in North Wales. The course circles the Trawsfynydd lake, providing a route that consists of mixed tarmac and trails. The terrain is described as mostly fast, featuring a total ascent of 175 meters and one notable hill.
The event is held under Welsh Athletics and UK Athletics rules and is chip timed for all participants. The race capacity is capped at 400 runners, with registration open to athletes aged 17 and over. Participants collect their race numbers and timing chips on the day of the event. The course is fully marshalled and includes designated water stations for the runners. All finishers receive a commemorative coaster.
The event offers the following distances:
- 8.6 miles (13.8 km) multi-terrain course for adults.
- 1 mile (1.6 km) race for children, with registration occurring on-site.
The event starts near the Magnox Power Station car park. All proceeds from the race are donated to the South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team, a charitable organization operated by volunteers who provide emergency assistance in the local area throughout the year.
