Traralgon Marathon Festival
The Traralgon Marathon Festival is an annual distance running event held in the Gippsland region of Victoria. Established in 1968, the event is organized by the Traralgon Harriers Athletic Club and takes place in the town of Glengarry. Participants start and finish at the Glengarry Football and Netball Club on Cairnbrook Road.
The course utilizes the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail, a historic route through the local landscape. Registration is available for individual participants or families, with strictly limited entry numbers. Participants receive a finisher medal and lunch as part of their entry.
Available distances include:
- 42.195 km (Marathon)
- 21.1 km (Half Marathon)
- 10 km
Age restrictions apply for the longer distances. Entrants for the full marathon must be 18 years or older on race day, while half marathon participants must be at least 16 years old. Bib and merchandise collection is available the day before the event near the Traralgon Cenotaph or on the morning of the races at the football club. Parking is managed by on-site assistants, and carpooling is suggested due to local parking restrictions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
