Traprock 50 : Bloomfield, CT
Traprock 50 is a trail event held in Bloomfield, Connecticut, at Penwood State Park. The event offers two loop-based race options on a course that uses the Metacomet Trail and surrounding forest tracks. Each loop measures roughly 10.5 to 11 miles; the 17K is one loop and the 50K is three loops. The course surface is approximately half technical single track and the remainder double-track, with rolling forest roads and very rocky single-track sections.
The organizer is the CT Trailmixers, a volunteer non-profit trail running club. Race proceeds support local organizations, including the Simsbury Land Trust and the Connecticut Forest and Parks Association. Registration opens November 26, 2026. Once capacity is reached a waitlist opens; entrants are selected from the waitlist in registration order and have two days to accept an offer before the next name is considered.
Additional event details: the 50K uses a nine hour cutoff. The race is cupless so participants must bring a personal cup or handheld bottle. A course map is available on AllTrails. Refunds are available at 50 percent before March 1; there are no refunds after that date and no bib transfers or deferrals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
