Event overview
The Golden Ultra is a three-day trail running stage race held in Golden, British Columbia. The course uses local singletrack, double track, gravel, and dirt trails in and around the Town of Golden, including sections on Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and trails along the Columbia River. The event is offered as a full three-day stage race or as single-day ultra events. Registration is limited to 600 runners.
Race options, entry and services
Stage race distances are the Full Pint and the Half Pint. Single-day options and their 2026 registration prices include:
- 3 km (Friday Catamount Climb) : $99 CAD / $71 USD
- 5 km (Friday Gondy Climb) : $99 CAD / $71 USD
- 60 km (Saturday) : $199 CAD / $144 USD
- 30 km (Saturday) : $169 CAD / $122 USD
- 16 km (Sunday) : $99 CAD / $72 USD
- 11 km (Sunday) : $89 CAD / $64 USD
Registration opens November 12, 2025. Full and Half Pint stage registrations are listed at $399 CAD / $299 USD with a deposit option of $199 CAD and the balance charged April 1, 2026. TransRockies Inc issues no refunds. Transfers may be permitted for a $50 admin fee before September 6, 2026. Deferral rules vary by date, with partial deferrals allowed up to 30 days before the event and no deferrals on or after August 11, 2026; full deferral is allowed for pregnancy or active military deployment with medical notes.
Included with entry are a T-shirt, a customized pint glass, marked courses, aid stations, drop-bag access for the 60 km and 30 km races, daily podium awards, event timing by Zone 4, and a professional medical team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
