Selkirk Slacker 12hr Ultra Trail Run & Relay
The Selkirk Slacker Ultra & Relay takes place in Golden, British Columbia. It features multiple race formats on a 6 km loop course.
- 12Hr (solo run)
- 8Hr Solo
- 2-person 12hr relay
- 4-person 12hr relay
- 5-person 12hr relay
Each participant or team completes as many laps as they wish within the 8-hour or 12-hour time frame. The start and finish of each lap is at Keith King Memorial Park, which houses a transition zone with team tents, a timing tent, and an aid station. Washroom facilities and ample parking are available on-site.
The course runs directly through the transition zone, allowing runners and teams to cheer for each other. Participants are encouraged to set up their own base camps in this area. There are no aid stations on the course itself; runners must be self-contained. Lap counting is managed manually at a dedicated lap table.
The event proceeds in all weather conditions (sun, rain, snow). Rules include no bib transfers, no bandits, no dogs on the course, and no pacers. Crew assistance is only permitted in the start/finish area.
A trail running film festival is held in the days leading up to the race. A "Swag Swap" initiative allows participants to opt out of race swag, with funds redirected to Tree Canada. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
