Selkirk Slacker 12hr Ultra Trail Run & Relay
The Selkirk Slacker takes place on May 23, 2026 in Golden, BC. The event offers solo and team relay formats run on a 6 km loop. It is a community based, volunteer supported event organized with local partners including the Town of Golden and trail groups.
Available formats include timed 8 hour and 12 hour events plus multi person relays. Each participant completes as many laps as they choose within the selected time frame. The Start/Finish is at Keith King Memorial Park where the transition zone contains team tents, the timing tent and aid resources.
There are no aid stations on the course. Water, electrolytes and food are provided at the Start/Finish area so runners are encouraged to be self contained on the loop. Parking is available on site and there are washroom facilities. Teams and solo runners may set up base camps in the transition area. Laps are recorded at the Lap Table; volunteers assist with counting and solo runners have dedicated helpers.
The event includes eco initiatives such as Swag Swap to redirect swag funds to Tree Canada and offers an option to donate. The Trail Running Film Festival runs Thursday May 21 at The Whitetooth Brewery.
