Trails & Tarmac 12hr BYU - Winter - (6 February 2027, Crickhowell, Powys)
This event is a Backyard Ultra set near Crickhowell in the Black Mountains. The format uses repeated 4.167 mile loops on a route that is approximately 50% trail and 50% tarmac. The course includes one gradual climb, a short steep section, and otherwise relatively flat terrain.
The format requires runners to complete each of the first eleven loops within one hour. The twelfth loop is contested as a final race to determine the winner. The event has an overall cap of 12 hours. A special medal is awarded to participants who reach 32 miles. Medals are issued for completing a loop and a trophy is presented to the first-place finisher. Loop timing will be provided but is optional.
Support and event facilities include food and drink on course, additional hot food after the fifth loop, medics on site, showers and toilets, and event photographers whose images are free to download after the event. Parking at headquarters has a fee that includes entry into a separate free event of the participant's choice.
