Event Overview
TrailFest – Holdenby House is a multi-distance trail running event taking place at the Holdenby House estate in Northamptonshire. It offers four distances: 10 km, half marathon, marathon, and 50 km. The event is described as suitable for all abilities and speeds.
Location and Course
The event is held entirely within the private grounds of Holdenby House, making it a traffic-free trail run. The course starts and finishes between the Basecourt Arches. The route goes around the outside of fields on a mixture of farm track and field edges, and passes through a small, rarely-trodden wood. Participants can expect to encounter rolling Northamptonshire hills throughout. Road shoes may be suitable in dry conditions, while trail shoes are advised after wet weather. The course will be heavily marked on the day.
Event Details and Rules
The event operates a cupless policy, meaning participants must bring their own cup or bottle to drink water at aid stations. A cup/bottle is mandatory for the half marathon, marathon, and 50 km distances. Spectators and crew are welcome, but pacers are not allowed. Dogs are not permitted at the event. There is a generous overall event cutoff time of 19:00.
Entry and Registration
Entry prices are tiered, increasing after August 13, 2026. Prices vary by distance. Unaffiliated entrants pay an extra £2. Participants receive a medal and a choice of alcohol-free beer or apple juice upon finishing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
