Trail Run at Sly Park (Spring) : May 9, 2026
This event takes place at Sly Park Recreation Area in Pollock Pines with centralized registration and vehicle parking at the Scales Parking Lot. The event is limited to 100 runners per day. Most distances start at the Scales Parking Lot and, except for the 5K, finish at the Waterfall Trailhead. Signage will mark the Scales Parking Lot and event locations.

- 5K start and finish at Scales Parking Lot
- 10K start at Scales, finish at Waterfall Trailhead
- 8 Mile start at Scales, finish at Waterfall Trailhead
- Half Marathon start at Scales, finish at Waterfall Trailhead
- 17 Mile start at Scales, finish at Waterfall Trailhead
- Trail Marathon start at Scales, finish at Waterfall Trailhead
- 50K start at Scales, finish at Waterfall Trailhead
The course follows trails around Jenkinson Lake. Most of the route is single track with gently rolling hills, some flat wide sections and short paved portions. Runners encounter an initial gravel downhill followed by a steep single track climb, then mostly level trails near the lake shore in a counterclockwise direction. Some sections include rocks and roots and other technical features.
Parking is limited; there is a $5 day use parking fee payable in cash at Scales. No race parking is allowed at the Waterfall Trailhead or the Sly Park Event Center. Two aid stations are located on opposite ends of the lake; Hazel Creek aid is not on the 5K or 10K courses. Portable restrooms are available at the start and finish areas.
