Salmon Falls 50K Endurance Run
The Salmon Falls 50K is a point to point trail ultramarathon held in the foothills near Sacramento. The course starts at the Magnolia Ranch Trail Head near Coloma and follows trails through the Cronan Ranch area before descending toward Folsom Lake. A new half marathon distance is offered on the same event day.
The race is organized by Coloma River Races, a non profit, and proceeds support Breakthrough T1D, an organization focused on research and treatment for type 1 diabetes. For 2026 the course uses the same revisions introduced in 2025: the finish line for both distances is at Browns Ravine, Salmon Falls Ranch trails are added to the 50K, and the half marathon start is at the Sweetwater Trail parking area.
Race services include six fully stocked aid stations and one self serve water station on the 50K course, plus on course food options such as electrolyte drink, sodas, gels, fruit and chips. The event provides a finisher medal for every finisher, with medals produced locally in El Dorado Hills. Additional awards recognize overall and age group placings and a custom award for the final finisher in the 50K.
Distances:
- 50K
- Half Marathon
Additional notes: pullover swag is provided for both distances with size guarantees for registrations completed by January 28, 2026. A 50 percent refund is available before January 28, 2026; no rollovers or deferrals are offered. Final course cut off allows approximately nine hours to complete the 50K with intermediate cut offs along the route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
