Trail of Honor: Cody Myers Memorial Race
This is a memorial trail race held near Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, with proceeds supporting the Cody Myers Legacy Scholarship administered by the Keystone Central Foundation. The event offers two runnable, nontechnical trail course options on the woods and dirt paths around the Sons of Italy Campground.
Participants can choose from:
- 8.7 miles out-and-back, about 334 feet elevation gain
- 4.55 miles loop, about 119 feet elevation gain
The long course includes two stocked aid stations at roughly miles 2.25 and 4.25, providing water, electrolytes, and light trail snacks. Volunteers and clear course markings are provided for direction and basic support. The routes are described as generally runnable, with a gradual climb toward the middle of the long course before the turnaround.
The event emphasizes community, remembrance, and outdoor time rather than a high-pressure race environment. The start and finish area brings together family, friends, and community members. After the race there is a community gathering at the Lock Haven VFW featuring food, live music, raffles, an auction, and a cash bar; admission is $5 for race participants and $10 for non-race participants.
Past proceeds helped fund several scholarships and the event continues to support graduating seniors who demonstrate leadership and mentorship. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
