Trail Loppet
Trail Loppet is an urban trail running event held in Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis. The event includes multiple race distances that start at Wirth Beach and finish at the Trailhead. Proceeds benefit the Loppet Foundation.
The weekend includes a family-focused Field Day at the Trailhead with activities for children ages 3 to 8, including a fun run and nature crafts. Participants are greeted after the race with music and a complimentary Pryes Brewing beverage.
Race support includes fluid stations and portable toilets on course. The Half Marathon has five fluid stations, with Gu or Honey Stinger gels available at the Quaking Bog and Bryn Mawr stations. The 10K and 5K each have two fluid stations. Bag drop is available at the start and bags are transported to the finish.
Transportation details note recommended parking at the Mortenson parking lot (700 Meadow Ln N) with shuttle buses to the start, extra bike racks at the Trailhead, and a nearby bus route stop. Athlete tracking is available through the Mtec Results app for the Half Marathon and Half Half. Free training plans are provided by Performance Running Gym. Awards are given to the top three overall men, women, and non-binary finishers in each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
