Trail Loppet
The Trail Loppet is a trail running event held in the Theodore Wirth Park in Minneapolis. The event features several distances focused on providing an urban trail running experience in the city’s largest regional park.
The following distances are available:
- Half Marathon
- 10 km (Youth registration available)
- 5 km (Youth registration available)
The event includes several amenities for participants. There are fluid stations on all courses provided by local sponsors; the Half Marathon includes five fluid stations with water, electrolyte drinks, and gels at specific locations, while the 10 km and 5 km courses feature two stations. Portable toilets are located at these stations. A bag drop service is managed at the start line, with items transported to the finish area for collection.
Participants receive a themed event shirt if registered by the early September deadline, and all runners are greeted with music and a beverage after the race. Awards are presented to the top overall finishers across men's, women's, and non-binary categories for all race distances. Training plans ranging from 6 to 10 weeks are provided through the event's coaching partner. Access to the venue is available via the Number 7 bus route, road biking, or parking at nearby designated lots with shuttle service. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
