The Dakotah! Sport and Fitness Turkey Trot takes place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Dakotah! Sport and Fitness / The Meadows at Mystic Lake Golf Course in the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community, Prior Lake, MN. The event includes:
- 5K
- Kids 1/2-Mile Fun Run
The 5K is a closed course run on the rolling hills of the golf course. Both the 5K and the Kids Fun Run begin in the west parking lot of Dakotah! Sport and Fitness and continue onto the golf course. Parents and guardians are welcome to run with children in the Kids Fun Run and do not need to register to run with them. The 5K is listed as sold out; limited spots remain for the Kids Fun Run.
Logistics and additional information
Registration proceeds will support local food shelves. The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community will match race fees at different rates (100% for early promotions, 75% for registrations from October 1 to November 22, and 10% for same-day registrations) with donations to the CAP Agency, Jordan Food Shelf, and Belle Plaine Food Shelf. Early registrants (Aug 1 - Sep 30) are eligible for a $10 discount and receive a branded sweater, sunglasses, and a refillable water bottle.
Packet pickup and chip distribution occur in the Dakotah! Sport and Fitness gymnasium at 2100 Trail of Dreams NW. Parking is available at the Dakotah! Ice Center lot on the east side. Post-race refreshments are provided in the gymnasium. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and the top finisher in each age group. Strollers are allowed but must stay at the back of the pack. Animals are not permitted. Refunds are not issued if the event is held as advertised.
