Event overview
The Dakotah! Sport and Fitness Turkey Trot takes place on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Dakotah! Sport and Fitness, 2100 Trail of Dreams NW, Prior Lake, MN. The event uses a closed course on the rolling hills of The Meadows at Mystic Lake Golf Course in the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 1/2-mile Kids Fun Run
Event registration proceeds will support local food shelves. The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community will match a portion of registration fees for donation to the CAP Agency, Jordan Food Shelf, and Belle Plaine Food Shelf: 100% of the Early Bird Promo, 75% of registrations from October 1-November 22, and 10% of same-day registrations.
Logistics and policies
Race packet pickup and race chip distribution take place on race day in the Dakotah! Sport and Fitness gymnasium; doors to the gymnasium are on the west side of the building and non-members may not walk through the building to access the gym. Parking is available in the Dakotah! Ice Center lot on the east side; volunteers will direct participants to the gymnasium doors. Parents or guardians may run with children in the Kids Fun Run without registering.
A race T-shirt is included in fees (an additional $4 applies for XXL). Post-race refreshments will be available in the gymnasium. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and the top finisher in each age group; no double dipping. Strollers are allowed but must stay at the back of the pack. Animals are not allowed. If the event is held as advertised, refunds will not be issued and race packets will not be mailed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
