The Traffic Jam'in 5K Run, 5K Walk, and 1 Mile Family Fun Run takes place on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Grass Lake Community Events Park in Grass Lake, Michigan. It is part of the larger Traffic Jam'in Festival.

The 5K routes are described as flat and scenic, taking participants around the lake and through a nearby neighborhood. The finish line is in front of the community Events Park Pavilion. Music is played on the course, and there is live music at the finish area. A water station is located at the halfway point.
Event Amenities & Awards
All 5K finishers receive a custom finisher's medal and a complimentary beverage. Local homemade treats are provided after the races. Technical-style t-shirts in men's and women's sizes are offered for participants who register by a specific date; youth sizes are cotton.
Awards are given in multiple categories. Overall awards are presented to the top male and female finishers in the Open, Masters (40+), and Senior Masters (60+) categories for both the 5K Run and 5K Walk. Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each group. These awards, such as handmade ceramic pint glasses, coasters, and ornaments, are crafted by local artists from the Grass Lake area.
Registration & Logistics
Registration is online only, with no on-site race day registration. Online registration closes at 6:30 PM on race day. Team discounts are available for groups of four or more. Early packet pickup is available on the day before the race at the Village of Grass Lake offices. Race day packet pickup is available from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the starting area.
Multiple parking lots are available for festival guests in downtown Grass Lake. Special participant parking is provided by the title sponsor, The Lost Railway Museum. The event has a no-dogs policy, with service dogs excluded. Professional timing is provided by the Michigan Running Foundation, with live results posted online.
