Event details
The Traffic Jam'in race takes place on July 10, 2026, at Grass Lake Community Events Park, 120 Brown St., Grass Lake, MI 49240. The event includes the following distances:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
- 1 Mile Family Fun Run
- Virtual 5K run/walk
The 5K course is described as flat and scenic, running around the lake and nearby neighborhood and finishing in front of the Events Park Pavilion. There is music on the course and live music at the finish. A water station is provided at the halfway mark. All 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal and a complimentary beverage.
Logistics and awards
Tech-style t-shirts are offered in men’s and women’s sizes; youth sizes are cotton. Shirts are guaranteed for registrations received by June 19; shirts available while supplies last. Packet pickup is available Thursday, July 9, 4:00–8:00 pm at Village of Grass Lake offices, 119 N. Lake Street, and on race day at the starting area. There is no on-site race day registration; online registration remains open until 6:30 pm on July 10.
Overall awards are presented to top male and female finishers in Open, Masters (40+), and Senior Masters (60+) for both the 5K Run and 5K Walk. Age-group awards are given to the top three in each listed age group and are made by local artisans. The race is professionally timed by the Michigan Running Foundation; results will be posted live and on the event site. Dogs are not permitted, except service animals.
