Event Overview
The Tower 2 Tower 5K is an athletic event held in Lenexa, Kansas, organized to coincide with National Drinking Water Week. This initiative supports Water for People, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing clean and safe drinking water to communities in various countries. The event features a local course centered around regional water infrastructure.
The race route consists of a 3.1 mile (5K) loop starting at the WaterOne water tower. Participants travel to a turnaround point near 118th Street and Renner Boulevard, located by the City of Olathe water tower, before returning to the original starting location. This course design ensures that prominent local landmarks are visible at the start, the turnaround point, and the finish line.
Participants can choose from the following event formats:
- In-person 5K (3.1 miles): A traditional running race on the established loop.
- Team Registration: Group participation for teams of three or more people on the same 5K course.
- Virtual 5K (3.1 miles): A remote participation option where individuals run or walk the distance at their preferred location.
Those participating in the virtual format receive a race packet via mail. This option does not require the reporting of finish times and allows for flexible completion of the distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
