The courses include staffed aid stations and portable bathrooms. The 50K course features five fully stocked aid stations, two of which are visited twice, approximately 4,000 feet of elevation gain, and a 9-hour cut-off. The 27K has four aid stations, about 2,500 feet of elevation gain, and a 7-hour cut-off. The 10K includes one aid station, about 900 feet of elevation gain, and has no cut-off. Aid stations provide traditional race fare such as water, soda, fruit, sandwiches, salty snacks, and candy.

Proceeds from the event are split between Friends of Governor Dodge and the Driftless Area Land Conservancy. Organizers note the race takes place during turkey hunting season and recommend wearing blaze orange or high-visibility gear. The event is planned to proceed in rain, snow, or shine, with the organizers reserving the right to modify or cancel the event due to trail conditions, natural disasters, weather, pandemic, or at the request of the Wisconsin DNR or local officials.

Each participant receives a custom DTC Silo shoe bag and finishers receive a horseshoe-style medal; the top three finishers in each gender category receive customized versions. Registration closes March 1, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
