TOUGH HIKE 21km Challenge - Surrey 2 Peaks 640M ASCENT
This is a shorter version of the Surrey 3 Peaks route, adapted for months with limited daylight. The route covers approximately 13 miles (21 km) with a total ascent of 640 m and is graded as Challenging. Typical hiking time is 5 to 5.5 hours with an average pace of 4.0 to 4.4 km/h.
The route visits the two highest points in Surrey, Leith Hill (294 m) and Holmbury Hill (261 m), and passes through sandy trails and woodland ridges within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Leith Hill summit includes the historic Leith Hill Tower and extended views across surrounding landscapes.
Terrain includes steep sections, loose ground, and a short part where hands may be needed for balance. The hike is intended for experienced and fit walkers; participants should be able to maintain the stated pace. A trained hike leader and an Outdoor Activity First Aider will lead the group.
The event price covers the guided hike and return train travel and is quoted as £33 plus any ticketing fees. Payments are refundable up to seven days before the event; after that they are non refundable and non transferable. Participants should bring sturdy footwear, a minimum of 2 litres of water, a packed lunch, waterproof jacket and trousers, and warm accessories such as a hat and gloves.
