Event overview
Sufferfest 26: Last Man Standing Run or Ruck takes place in Williamston, SC on March 7, 2026. The event uses a Last Man Standing format with separate running and rucking divisions. Registration for this edition closed on October 29, 2025. All proceeds will go to SCQRF.
Format, rules and logistics
Participants complete repeated 1-mile loops with a 20-minute cutoff to finish each loop. Ruck division competitors carry a 30 lb ruck for both male and female categories. A 0.5 pound leeway is allowed for ruck weight. All ruck entrants are weighed before the race and may be weighed randomly during the event; missing weight by more than 0.5 pound leads to removal from the event. Failure to meet the loop cutoff or failure to appear at the start line when the three warning sounds are given results in elimination; eliminated participants are instructed to ring a bell.
An aid station at the start/finish will provide basic food and hydration. Tents are allowed and overnight camping is permitted the night before the race. Awards include first place for both ruck and run divisions, buckles for participants who reach 100 miles, and a swag bag for every competitor. A special prize is planned for participants who wear their unit/fire/department shirt for the first 20 laps. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
