About the Event
The Toronto Carnival Run is a Caribbean-themed running and walking event held annually along Toronto’s waterfront. Established in 2016, it serves as a celebration of health, wellness, and Caribbean culture. The races take place on an out-and-back route starting and finishing at Sir Casimir Gzowski Park, utilizing the Martin Goodman Trail.
Participants can select from the following distances:
- 10 km Run/Walk
- 5 km Run/Walk
- 1 km Kids Run (for children under 12)
The course is set on a shared public route, with race marshals stationed along the path to assist with navigation and safety. Water stations are provided approximately every 2.5 km and at the finish line. While the course is not professionally certified, the event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario, ensuring adherence to official safety and operational standards.
Registered participants receive a chip-timed race bib, a finisher’s medal, and a race kit. The event also provides a complimentary baggage check for athletes. Proceeds from the run support the Simunye Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on preserving the history and heritage of the African Canadian diaspora. Strollers are permitted on the course, provided they start at the back of the pack. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
