Event Overview
The Top Gun Night Run is an annual 6k running race held in Smyrna, Tennessee. Organized by the Capt. Jeff Kuss USMC Memorial, the event takes place at Lee Victory Recreation Park. The course carries a distance of 3.7 miles and is both chip-timed and USATF certified. Participation is limited to 650 runners.
Course Details
The route incorporates several local landmarks, including the Smyrna/Rutherford County Airport and the Smyrna Municipal golf course. The race concludes at the Captain Jeff Kuss USMC Memorial, which features a retired Blue Angel F/A-18 Hornet aircraft as its centerpiece. This illuminated memorial honors the life and service of USMC Captain Jeff Kuss.
Participant Information
Registered participants receive a race packet, a T-shirt, and a finisher medal. The event includes both an in-person race and a virtual option. Beyond the race itself, attendees can find live music and various vendors stationed within the park.
Purpose of the Race
Proceeds from the event are dedicated to the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the Captain Jeff Kuss USMC Memorial. Additionally, funds support a Memorial Scholarship established in 2023. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
