62nd Tom Scott Memorial Road Races
The Tom Scott Memorial Road Races take place at Strathclyde Park, featuring a course that utilizes the paths around the local loch. The event offers two distinct distances for participants:
- 10 Mile Championship race
- 6 km Round the Loch run
The routes are characterized as flat and fast, with the 10 Mile race frequently recording some of the top times in the UK for the calendar year. This distance serves as the host for the Scottish National 10 Mile Championships. The 6 km option is a shorter alternative designed for various running abilities.
The event follows a "classic" route that has been used for the majority of the race's history since 2004. Because parts of the course use park roads, traffic cones are placed to mark the designated running lanes.
The 10 Mile race is open to individuals aged 17 and over on race day, with a requirement that participants should be able to complete the distance within two hours. The 6 km run is open to those aged 13 and over. Membership in a running club is not required for entry. The event is held under UK Athletics competition rules and maintains a Scottish Athletics race license.
Participant limits are set at 500 for the 10 Mile race and 100 for the Round the Loch run. Registration includes the postal distribution of race numbers prior to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
