Tom McHugh Arts Scholarship 5K Run/Walk
The Tom McHugh Arts Scholarship 5K is a community running and walking event held on October 10, 2026 at Waterman's Crab House & Dock Bar in Rock Hall, MD. The event includes a road 5K and a separate 100 yard kiddie run for children age 10 and under.
Distances:
- 3.1 Miles for the run, walk, and virtual options
- 100 Yards for the Kiddie Run for ages 10 and under
Registration is listed at $30 with an increased fee of $35 after Oct 3 and on event day. A virtual option allows participants to complete the distance remotely on the event date. A Silent Hero donation option is available for supporters who cannot attend in person.
Awards are planned for overall male and female winners, master winners, top three male and female runners in 10-year age groups, and top five male and female walk finishers. Ribbons are provided to all Kiddie Run finishers. An awards ceremony is scheduled after the last participant finishes.
Registered participants receive a tech shirt. Virtual participants who want a shirt must arrange pickup from the race director, as shirts will not be mailed.
Proceeds benefit the Tom McHugh Arts Scholarship award for a graduating KCHS senior pursuing arts studies, with a portion also supporting the Rock Hall Elementary School Arts program.
