About the race
The Tom McHugh Run for the Arts 5K Run/Walk takes place on October 10, 2026, in Rock Hall, Maryland, at Waterman's Crab House & Dock Bar, 21055 East Sharp Street.
Event options include a 5K run, a 5K walk, a virtual 5K, a free Kiddie K and a donation entry listed as a Silent Hero. Distances:
- 3.1 miles for run, walk, and virtual options
- 100 yards for the free Kiddie K (ages 10 and under)
Registration fees are $30 through October 3 and $35 after that and on event day. Registered participants receive a tech shirt. Virtual participants who want a shirt must arrange pickup with the race director because shirts will not be mailed.
Awards are given to overall male and female winners, masters, top three male and female runners in 10-year age groups, and top three male and female walk finishers. Ribbons are provided to all Kiddie K finishers. The awards ceremony is held immediately after the last participant finishes.
Proceeds support the Tom McHugh Arts Scholarship to be awarded to a KCHS graduating senior pursuing arts studies; a portion benefits the Rock Hall Elementary School arts program. The event occurs alongside FallFest, which features live music, entertainment, vendors, artisans, and food in the waterfront town of Rock Hall.
