Event Overview
The Tom King Classic offers two events: a half marathon and a 5K run/walk. Both races start and finish at Cornelia Fort Airpark in Nashville.
Course Details
The courses are certified, flat, and follow an out-and-back format. Both routes go through Shelby Park and the paved Shelby Bottoms Greenways.
Event Information
The combined participant limit for both races is 600 people due to parking limitations. Registration includes a guaranteed shirt for sign-ups by February 12, 2026. Half marathon participants receive a long-sleeve technical shirt and a finisher medal. 5K participants receive a long-sleeve cotton-blend shirt. Post-race food and awards are provided. Pets are not allowed.
Hydration is available at the start/finish area and on the half marathon course. Early packet pickup is available on Friday afternoon at the Shelby Park Community Center. Race day packet pickup begins at 6:00 AM at Cornelia Fort Airpark; same-day registration is available until 7:45 AM.
Free parking is available in grass lots and adjacent streets at Cornelia Fort Airpark on race day and at the community center on Friday. Carpooling or ride-sharing is encouraged. Both race distances are part of the Nashville Striders 2026 Grand Prix Race Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
