About the race
The event is the third annual 5k run/walk held on September 12, 2026, in French Lick, Indiana. The course follows trails between the historic French Lick Springs Resort and West Baden Springs Hotels. It is organized in memory of a ten year old who died unexpectedly on September 13, 2022, from sepsis.
September is Sepsis Awareness Month and the person being honored had a birthday on the 19th, a point noted by the organizers. Registration opens May 4, 2026 and closes September 11, 2026. The standard registration fee is $30 and the fee increases to $35 on race day. Registration received by August 29, 2026 will receive an event T shirt; after that date T shirts are available on a first come first serve basis and may not be available in all sizes or at all on race day. All proceeds from the event will go to a memorial scholarship fund established in the person’s memory.
