Orleans Tri Kappa 5K
The Orleans Tri Kappa 5K takes place in Orleans, Indiana. This annual event features two main participation categories:
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
The course is described as flat and fast, with the start and finish lines located at the historic Town Square in Orleans. Packet pickup and registration take place at a local art studio on West Jefferson Street. The event uses various age divisions for ranking, ranging from 14 and under to 60 and over. Awards are presented to the overall top male and female winners in both the run and walk categories, as well as the top three finishers within each age group.
Participants can form corporate or group teams. Groups of 10 or more are eligible for a registration discount, and the largest team is awarded a traveling trophy to hold until the following year's event. Additionally, a referral program offers a partial refund to participants who successfully refer three other registrants through a unique link.
The event serves as a fundraiser in partnership with the Orleans Tri-Hi-Y. The Tri-Hi-Y is a service organization for high school girls that supports several community outreach programs, with Riley Children’s Hospital serving as their primary beneficiary.
