TMC Tucson 10k
The TMC Tucson 10k is a running event set against the backdrop of the Painted Hills and the Tucson Mountains. The event features a course that starts at Pima Community College West and traverses the rolling hills near Starr Pass and Gates Pass, offering participants panoramic views of the Tucson Basin. The staging area is located in the shaded middle courtyard of the college campus, which serves as a hub for pre-race and post-race music, food trucks, and snacks.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 10 km (6.2 miles) Run/Walk
- 5 km (3.1 miles) Run/Walk
- Youth 5 km (3.1 miles, for ages 14 and under)
The 10 km course includes challenging hills on smooth surfaces, making it accessible for chair athletes. The 5 km distance follows an out-and-back route designed with additional room for runners and walkers.
The event is produced by Run Tucson in partnership with the Southern Arizona Roadrunners. Proceeds benefit the Southern Arizona Roadrunners and the BEYOND-Tucson Foundation. Race amenities include souvenir shirts and medals for the first 1,000 registrants, with chip timing provided for age group awards. The Youth 5k includes official timing and post-race snacks, though it does not include a shirt or medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
