About the race
The Hanukkah Hot Cocoa Run is held on December 6, 2026 at the Tucson JCC and includes timed and untimed running events for multiple ages. The event features a timed 5k, a timed 1 mile, and a free untimed 1k fun run.

All races use an out-and-back course on the Rillito River Path and start and end at the sculpture garden at the Tucson JCC. The route includes a mix of dirt and paved terrain. Shirts are included with 5k and 1 mile registration; 1k participants may purchase shirts for $15. Registrants who register before November 15 can guarantee their shirt size.
Top finishers receive awards: in the 5k the top three men and women in each age division receive a race mug, and the top three overall men and women receive a race tumbler. The 5k age divisions are 12 and under; 13-17; 18-25; 26-35; 36-45; 46-55; 56-65; 66-75; 76 and up. The 1 mile age divisions are 12 and under; 13-17; 18 and up; top finishers in those divisions receive a race mug. Random participant raffle prizes include a $25 Choice Greens gift card, a Southern Arizona Roadrunners membership, a three-month Tucson JCC membership, and a race tumbler. Volunteer shifts are available. Race results are provided by Road Runner Race Timing and the event is sponsored by TMC Health. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
