Event overview
The TMC Old Tucson Trail Run takes place on February 22, 2026, at Old Tucson Studios, 201 South Kinney Road, Tucson, AZ 85735. The event offers multiple entry options with set prices:
- 8-Mile : $50
- 4-Mile : $45
- 1-Mile Walk/Run : $45
- Kids Mile (ages 1-14) : $10
All participants receive a commemorative sublimated shirt and a souvenir race number. The first 750 registrants are guaranteed a souvenir shirt. A limited-edition souvenir medal is available for purchase for $15, limited to 150 units.
Course and logistics
The 8-Mile course includes a 2-mile loop inside Old Tucson, a 4-mile loop on trails in Tucson Mountain Park, then a closing 2-mile loop inside Old Tucson, with start and finish at the Bitter Creek and High Chaparral sets. The 4-Mile course loops through Old Tucson streets, horse trails, and desert terrain; it is part of the 2026 SAR Running Shop Grand Prix. The family 1-Mile is less technical and accommodates strollers and walkers.
Terrain is dirt, trails, and washes with some rugged sections, mostly flat with a few inclines; participants are advised to watch for cactus. The 4-Mile is not suited for chairs, while the 1-Mile may be doable for chair athletes. Pets are not allowed on Old Tucson property. Post-race amenities include a cash bar and pre-order breakfast burritos. Awards include gift certificates to The Running Shop for overall and age group winners. Weather is expected in the 50s to 70s.
