Tittesworth Water 50k
Tittesworth Water takes place at Tittesworth Reservoir on the western edge of the Peak District, with base camp at Tittesworth Water Visitor Centre, Meerbrook, Leek ST13 8SW. The course runs beneath The Roaches and across southern Peak District moorland.
The routes combine runnable reservoir-side paths with steeper climbs onto heather moorland, offering views across Staffordshire and the Cheshire Plain. Terrain is described as moorland trail with sections of technical trail and flowing descents.
Distances offered include:
- 50K: 50 km, 1,551 m ascent, cut-off 10 hours, minimum age 20.
- 22K: 22 km, 811 m ascent, cut-off 5 hours, minimum age 17.
- 10K: 10 km, 351 m ascent, cut-off 2.5 hours, minimum age 16.
Aid stations provide water, electrolytes or sports drink, coke, fruit, sweets, salty snacks, energy bars and energy gels at select locations. The event is cupless; participants should provide a personal cup or soft flask. Facilities at the race village include bag drop, portaloos, food and snacks, hot drinks and a kit stall.
All races are chip-timed with results posted online. Walking poles are permitted. Headphone use is discouraged; open ear or bone conducting headphones are allowed. A mandatory pre-race briefing takes place 15 minutes before each race start. Registration opens 1 hour 30 minutes before each race start.
