Event
The Tissington Trail Marathon & Half Marathon takes place on 26 April 2026 in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The event is organised by Nice Work and offers two distances:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
Entry prices are listed between £38 and £42 in advance, with on-the-day entry fees shown as £45 for each distance (subject to availability). Age limits apply: entrants must be 18 or over for the marathon and 17 or over for the half marathon on the event date.
Course and practical information
The race uses the Tissington Trail, a former railway line that runs about 13 miles from Ashbourne to Buxton. The marathon is an out-and-back on this traffic-free trail, with the route rising to Parsley Hay for the first half and generally downhill on the return to Ashbourne Leisure Centre. The course is described as multi-terrain and undulating. There is a six hour cut-off for the event. Route maps and downloadable GPX files are available.
Included for participants are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. Race headquarters is at Ashbourne Leisure Centre. There is car parking in Ashbourne town centre and a small Leisure Centre car park (pay charges apply), and bus services run from Derby to Ashbourne Leisure Centre.
