Tissington Trail Marathon & Half Marathon
The event offers two race distances on the Tissington Trail in Derbyshire, a traffic free route that follows a former railway line. The trail runs between Ashbourne and Buxton and is surrounded by countryside. The course for the marathon is an out and back route that climbs toward Parsley Hay for the first half and then returns toward Ashbourne Leisure Centre with a generally downhill second half. The terrain is described as multi terrain and undulating.
Route maps and GPX files are available for competitors. The organiser specifies a six hour time limit for the event. Included for entrants are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners.
Entry pricing is shown in advance as between £38 and £42 and on the day as £45 subject to availability. Race headquarters are at Ashbourne Leisure Centre in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
