Derby Running Festival

The Derby Running Festival takes place within the grounds of Elvaston Castle Country Park. This event is Run Britain and UKA licensed with officially measured distances. The course consists of a flat multi-terrain route utilizing a combination of trail, tarmac, and footpaths. Participants run through grade II listed grounds, passing near the hall and the Golden Gates.

The festival offers three distinct race distances:

  • Half Marathon: A course with 37m elevation involving 4 laps and a short out-and-back section.
  • 10k: A race with 18m elevation completed over 2 laps.
  • 5k: A route with 9m elevation completed over 2 laps.

All distances are chip-timed to provide accurate results for all participants. The event infrastructure includes an event village with food and drink options. Support is provided by marshals positioned throughout the park to guide runners along the specific lap-based routes.

Participants receive a themed medal upon completion, along with post-race items provided by event partners. Digital race photos are made available after the event. The festival is open to runners of all abilities and focuses on providing a clear, measured course in a historic parkland setting. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
