Tissington Trail January Half Marathon & 10k Weekend
This weekend event stages running races on the Tissington Trail, the former railway line from Ashbourne to Buxton. The traffic free trail runs through the Derbyshire Dales and offers open views across the surrounding countryside. The course is multi terrain with a gentle uphill gradient on the outward leg and a slight downhill on the return.
Entrants can choose between the following distances:
- Half Marathon
- 10k
The event is held on both Saturday and Sunday, allowing participants to race on one day or both days. Detailed route maps and downloadable GPX files are provided for navigation. The organiser notes the event is popular and often sells out in advance.
Included for participants are a bespoke medal, free photographs, and trophies and prizes for leading runners. Race HQ is located at Ashbourne Leisure Centre, Clifton Road, DE6 1DR, approximately a ten minute walk from the start area at Mappleton Road, Ashbourne, DE6 2AA. Parking is available in several pay and display car parks in the town, all within walking distance of Race HQ. Event information is sent to registered entrants prior to race day.
