About the race
Litton Christmas Cracker takes place on Sunday 13 December 2026 from the village of Litton. The route runs around Miller's Dale and Cressbrook and covers a distance of 11.8 km with about 510 m of ascent.
Entries are open from 1 August 2026 until 10 December 2026. Entry fees are listed as GBP 12.00 for FRA members and GBP 14.00 for non members. At the time of listing there were 132 participants and the event has a maximum capacity of 250 runners. Minimum age for entry is 19, with the requirement that entrants must turn 20 by 31 December 2026.
Registration is held at Litton Village Hall. Parking is in Litton village and is limited. Toilets are available at the Red Lion Inn. Mulled wine, tea or coffee, and mince pies are provided at the finish.
The race is licenced by the Fell Runners Association and governed by FRA rules. Competitors are expected to carry the mandatory kit specified by the organisers, although requirements may be relaxed depending on conditions. The use of GPS navigation or poles is not allowed and running with dogs is prohibited. Breaking the rules may result in disqualification. Fancy dress is encouraged.
