Litton Christmas Cracker : event overview
The Litton Christmas Cracker is a winter fell race held on 13 December 2026 from Litton Village Hall, SK17 8QX. The course runs around Miller’s Dale and Cressbrook and is listed as 11.8 km with 510 m of ascent. Participants are encouraged to wear Santa hats and fancy dress.
Registration takes place at Litton Village Hall. Parking is limited in Litton village, so car sharing is advised. Toilets are available at the Red Lion Inn and refreshments at the finish include mulled wine, tea, coffee and mince pies.
The event is licensed by the Fell Runners Association and is governed by FRA rules. Competitors must carry the mandatory FRA kit unless specific relaxations are announced for conditions. The use of GPS navigation or poles is not permitted and running with dogs is not permitted. Failure to comply with race rules may result in disqualification.
Entry details and limits are published for the event: entries open 1 July 2026 and close 10 December 2026, the minimum age is 19 (runners must turn 20 by 31 December 2026) and the maximum field is 250 runners.
