Event Overview
The Tipsy Turtle 2 Mile Fun Run and Festival is a community sports event held at Jaycee Beach Park in Vero Beach, Florida. The event coincides with the beginning of the sea turtle nesting season and serves as a fundraiser for Coastal Connections. All proceeds from the event are used to support the protection of coastal habitats for sea turtle survival.
Participation Options
The event offers several ways to participate:
- 2 Mile Fun Run & Festival: An in-person run or walk along Ocean Drive.
- Virtual Run or Walk: An option for participants to complete the distance remotely.
- Sea Turtle Festival ONLY: Access to the festival activities without participating in the race.
Amenities and Activities
Registered participants in the 2 mile race receive an extra soft collectible race T-shirt, with availability guaranteed for the first 400 people who register. All registrants receive collectible participation pins. Post-race amenities include food, beverages, and music.
The festival portion of the event features a Vendor Village, a photo station, raffles, and shopping. For families, the Kids Corner provides stationary games and activities. Special holiday-themed events include an egg hunt and a Hatchling Dash for children along the boardwalk. An adult hydration station is also provided, offering mimosas and beer.
Race Logistics
The course for the 2 mile run is located in central Vero Beach. Timing services are provided for the race, and awards are presented to teams and individual runners across age groups ranging from 10 to over 80 years old. Packet pickup is available the day before the event at the Coastal Connections administrative office in Vero Beach, or on the morning of the event at Jaycee Beach Park.
