About the race
TinMan Durban is a multisport event held at Suncoast Casino on the Durban Golden Mile. The event offers a range of triathlon, duathlon and running formats with sea swimming, closed-road cycling and promenade running.
Entry categories include:
- 10km Fun Run : 9.5 km to 9.8 km
- Mini Triathlon : 200 m swim / 6 km cycle / 2.5 km run
- Super Sprint Triathlon : 400 m swim / 12 km cycle / 2.5 km run
- Sprint Triathlon / Relay : 750 m swim / 22 km cycle / 5 km run
- Sprint Duathlon : 5 km run / 22 km cycle / 2.5 km run
- Challenge Triathlon / Relay : 1.2 km swim / 32 km cycle / 10 km run
Minimum age limits apply per category, ranging from 8 years for the Mini Triathlon to 18 years for the Challenge distance. Events are timed and offer a reusable race number, finishers medal, medical support, swim lifeguards, run marshals and full road closure for the bike leg. Prize awards are offered to top three male and female finishers for each race and a lucky-draw prize is included.
Registration takes place at the Suncoast Sundeck, with on-site registration available on race morning. All athletes must hold an annual Triathlon SA licence or purchase a temporary day licence valid for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
