Timberview Trail Run
The Timberview Trail Run is an annual trail running event held at Lory State Park in Bellvue, Colorado. The event offers three distances on marked trails with on-course aid stations that provide water, fuel and electrolyte drink in 100% biodegradable cups. Aid stations also include dog water bowls.
Distances:
- 10 mile - double loop of the 5 mile course
- 5 mile - more technical trails with greater elevation gain
- 5K - an easier introductory trail route suitable for children and first-time trail runners
The course runs through treetops with views of Horsetooth Reservoir, Fort Collins and the foothills. Wet-weather alternate routes exist and may be used if park rangers close certain trails. The event is USATF sanctioned and promoted as a 100% plant based event. Post-race provisions listed by the organizer include food, event shirts, finisher medals, race bibs, free event photos, professional chip timing and awards for top finishers in each distance. Parking at the park is limited; parking passes are used and volunteers assist with parking. The organizer notes that athletes are responsible for knowing course routes and that final athlete information will be provided prior to race day.
