Timberline Trail Run : Crosscut Mountain Sports Center
Timberline Trail Run is a trail running event hosted by Crosscut Mountain Sports Center in collaboration with the Montana State University Nordic Ski Team. The event takes place in Bridger Canyon outside Bozeman, Montana on Sunday September 27, 2026.
The event offers multiple course distances:
- 20 km
- 10 km
- 5 km (Bobcat)
- Kids Run
Courses use Crosscut’s summer trail network and pass through mountain terrain including panoramic Bridger Range vistas, forests, alpine meadows, and rugged sections. Course maps for 2026 are available on CalTopo.
Entry fees for the 2026 event are listed as follows: Timberline 20 km $40, Timberline 10 km $35, Bobcat 5 km $30, Kids Run $5. Prices for the 5 km, 10 km, and 20 km events increase by $10 on September 1. Proceeds from the Bobcat 5 km support the Montana State University Nordic Ski Team.
Logistics note: parking is planned at the Crosscut Event Stadium accessed from D Lot and the race start and finish are located at the Crosscut Event Stadium off Wedeln Drive. Awards will be given to the top three men and top three women in each timed event. Volunteer roles are organized for the event.
Event policies state that entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. The organizing committee may modify, delay, reschedule, or cancel the event for weather, air quality, or course conditions; a makeup date will be sought if feasible.
