The Tim Walker Founders' Day 5K is a running and walking event held on July 4, 2026. Race Details
The event features a single 5 km distance. The course remains inside the Elizabethtown Sports Park, traveling along the park's asphalt walking trail. Participants complete two loops of a 1.55-mile (approximately 2.5 km) route. A water stop is available after the first loop.
Registration and Logistics
Registration is $25 for general participants, while children aged 9 and under can register for $10. Registered participants receive a race t-shirt; a shirt deadline of June 19, 2026, is mentioned to guarantee a shirt. Packet pickup occurs on race morning at the soccer pavilion located near the back of the park.
Event Purpose
The race is a fundraiser for the Hardin County History Museum. It is dedicated to the memory of Tim C. Walker, a former mayor of Elizabethtown (2011-2013) and one of the original Founders' Day organizers who died in 2013.
