Tillman Clocktower 5K & 2-Mile Health Walk
The event is the 41st annual running and walking event held in Rome, Georgia, with race headquarters and finish at Heritage Park. The courses run through historic downtown Rome, include an ascent of Clocktower Hill, pass Myrtle Hill, cross the John Ross Footbridge, and follow the Oostanaula River and the Levee of Heritage Park. Funds raised support the Exchange Club Family Resource Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K road race - USATF certified GA24030WC, chip timed.
- 2 Mile health walk - non-competitive and not timed.
Amenities listed for participants include pre-race and post-race massages and stretching, post-event refreshments, participant packets, and music. Short sleeve Gildan Soft-Style tee-shirts and goody bags are guaranteed for participants who preregister by August 5th. Registration opens on June 7; lower pricing is available through July 17, with increases afterward and later registration options subject to different fees and tee-shirt availability.
The 5K awards include overall, masters, grandmasters, age group prizes, and awards for the youngest and oldest finishers. The 2 Mile Health Walk is intended for health and recreation and does not have competitive awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
