Logistics and race rules
Entry is available both online and on the day, with an entry limit of 250 competitors. The minimum age for entry is 18. The route is marshaled at major turning points. Toilets, food, a bar and parking are available at the venue; car sharing and use of nearby Longshaw car park are encouraged. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
Runners must carry the kit required by the Race Organiser; FRA Best Practice kit is recommended and may be enforced. Typical required items include a waterproof whole-body cover (taped seams and attached hood), hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and emergency food. Mandatory kit inspections may be performed before the start and on completion; failure to carry required kit can lead to disqualification. Competitors must keep their race number clearly visible on the chest while running.
Prizes are awarded for top finishers and age groups, with separate male and female categories and additional spot prizes. The race holds a permit and associated UK Athletics insurance from the FRA. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
