Event overview

The Tiger Peak Challenge is a trail running event on June 20, 2026 near Issaquah, Washington, in the Tiger Mountain State Forest. Races offered are:

  • 5 Mile
  • Half marathon
  • 50K

All races start and finish at Clark Elementary School, 335 1st Ave SE, Issaquah, WA 98027. The Half and 50K routes visit two of Tiger Mountain’s three peaks. The 50K consists of two loops.

Course details and support

The course begins on local streets before entering the Rainier Trail and climbing via the High School trail and Section Line, which gains over 1,300 ft in less than 1 mile to the summit of West Tiger 1. The 5-mile route follows trails through the Tradition Plateau. Elevation gain is listed as 600 ft for the 5 Mile, 4,000 ft for the Half, and 9,000 ft for the 50K. Aid stations are placed along each course; volunteers provide food and hydration.

Additional information

The event is cupless - participants must carry a refillable container. A free Woodland Speeders kid’s race uses a mostly paved singletrack course about 0.5 miles long and is flat. Evergreen Trail Runs notes environmental practices such as Trees not Tees and support for the Washington Trails Association, and it offers a non-binary registration option.
