Event details

The Tiger Peak Challenge is a trail running event on June 20, 2026, near Issaquah, Washington. Distances offered include a 5 Mile, Half Marathon, 50K, and a Kids Race. The event starts and finishes at Clark Elementary School in Issaquah and uses trails on Tiger Mountain State Forest, a 13,745-acre working forest that includes the West Tiger Mountain Natural Resources Conservation Area. The 50K distance is two loops.

  • 5 Mile : 600 ft elevation; aid stations at 1 and 4.5 miles
  • Half Marathon : 4,000 ft elevation; aid at 4.5, 9.5, 12 miles
  • 50K : 9,000 ft elevation; aid at 4.5, 11.5, 14, 18, 25, 28 miles

Course and logistics

The Half and 50K routes climb two of Tiger Mountain’s peaks and include the Section Line trail, which climbs over 1,300 ft in less than 1 mile to the West Tiger 1 summit. The 5 Mile follows a loop through the Tradition Plateau with less elevation. Runners leave Clark Elementary, run the Rainier Trail and High School trail, and then follow ridgeline and plateau trails; half runners split from the 50K before returning to the finish, while 50K runners complete a second loop.

Aid stations are placed along the courses with volunteers, food, and hydration. The event is cupless; all runners must carry a refillable container. The Kids Race is about 0.5 miles, mostly paved singletrack and sidewalk, and is flat. Trails remain open to other users during the event.
