Scillonian Sprint
The Scillonian Sprint takes place on Saturday 9 May 2026 on St Mary’s in the Isles of Scilly. The event is designed for day trippers who want to run on the islands in a single visit. Runners choose between two trail distances that follow coastal and island paths. Both routes have a generous three hour time limit and the race starts from Porthmellon Beach.
- 17 km Circumnavigation of St Mary’s
- 8 km "Best of St Mary’s" Route
An optional ferry trip from Penzance on the Scillonian 3 is available for participants travelling for the day. Event organisation notes the course will close after the permitted running window. A minimum race fee of £20 supports the event’s charitable distribution. One hundred percent of event profits will be donated, split evenly between Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust and the Adam Mallon Sports Fund. The donations support maintenance of island coast paths and sports opportunities for local pupils. Adult finishers receive a complimentary Scilly60 Events Pale Ale provided by the event sponsor and a piece of artwork mapping the route. The event is presented as an introduction to trail running on the islands and as a fundraising activity for local causes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
