Scillonian Sprint - Isles of Scilly
The Scillonian Sprint is a trail running event on St Mary’s, scheduled for Saturday 15 May 2027. It is designed for day-trippers and includes an optional ferry trip from Penzance to St Mary’s. Registration will open by the end of September.
Participants choose between two route options:
- 17 km Circumnavigation of St Mary’s
- 8 km "Best of St Mary’s" route
Both routes have a three-hour time limit. The race starts from Porthmellon Beach. The event itinerary includes ferry travel, arrival on St Mary’s, the beach start, and options to return to Penzance or remain on the islands after the race.
One hundred percent of event profits will be donated to two local charities, supported through a minimum race fee of £20. The donations are split equally between the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust, which cares for the islands and maintains most of the coast paths, and the Adam Mallon Sports Fund, which supports sports facilities, opportunities, and mainland competition access for pupils aged 8 to 16 in athletics, cricket, tennis, football and rowing.
Adult participants receive a complimentary Scilly60 Events Pale Ale provided by Firebrand Brewing Co and a piece of artwork from Erica Hicks Prints that maps the route. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
